Dow Hill of Kurseong (West Bengal)

Introduction

Kurseong is a small and extremely beautiful hill station in Darjeeling (West Bengal) whose local name is Kharsang. This place is famous for beautiful scenes of nature. But due to a place called 'Dow Hill' located at a distance of few kilometers away from here, it is considered as one of the most haunted places in India. There are many stories of Murder and Ghosts are prevailing at this place. 

According to local people, there are so many ghosts live in the Victoria Boys high school of Dow Hill. There is also a forest near this school where many people have killed, which makes this place even more scary.

Story of a Headless boy

The story of a headless boy at this place is very popular. It is said that many people have seen the ghost of a headless boy inside and around the school. Sometimes it feels he is playing in the school and sometimes it feels he is walking on the road and then suddenly disappears into the forest. Some people told that while passing through this forest, they always feel like someone is following them. You never feel alone while passing through this forest because everytime it feels like someone is watching you.
From lots of unnatural feelings some people loosed their control and stayed in trauma stage for a long time. Many of them committed suicide.

Enjoy your present moments (Small Story)

Once a man went to a saint. He started to tell his problems one by one to that saint. He said, whenever I think something good for me, it is always bad happen to me. He said, last time i was thinking that whenever i will get a job i will gift a car to my father but unfortunately my father died before i get a job and this time i was thinking that whenever i will get promotion to my job, i will take my children to a long tour, but unfortunately i did not get any promotion. He said may be there is no happiness left in my life.

The saint listened his all problems and told him to come along with him to a garden. The garden was full of rose flowers. The saint told him that you have to pluck only one flower among these all flowers which you feel the most beautiful. But the condition is that once you came forward you cannot come backward to choose that flower again. Then, the man started the game. He found so many beautiful flowers at the begining of the garden but he thought, may be there are more beautiful flowers ahead. By doing so, he reached at the end of the garden. But at the end of the garden, there were only simple flowers left and he had to choose one flower from that flowers. 

After Plucking that flower he went to saint and told him the whole story of how he lost the most beautiful flower in searching of more flowers. Then the saint explained to him that life also works like this. We always search for more and more happiness in our life but we never get that happiness. Because every moment is full of happiness which the god is given to us. But we are spoiling our present moments in searching of our better future which no one has seen. So always enjoy your present life. If your present is good your future will always good.

The Decision of win or Lose (Small Story)

Once there was a King. He was very kind to all. His kingdom was very small. But the people of the kingdom were very happy. His kingdom's army force were approximate 140 to 150. This was the biggest weakness for his kingdom. 

One day, an another kingdom's army attacked on his kingdom who were approximately 50000 to 60000 in numbers. The small kingdom's people were shocked by this sudden attacked on them. The king of the small kingdom called a emergency meeting. The king said that the opposition army is so big we cannot handle them with our small army force. But he knew that if we fight against them there may be some chances of win but if we surrender, we will surely lose. 

The King told his army that lets leave this decision on destiny this time. He said lets toss a coin, if there comes head, we will win, if there comes tail. then we will lose. Then king tossed the coin, and fortunetely head came. By seeing this, everyone was there filled with joy and confidence. Now they were ready for every kind of fight.

They attacked on opposition army with their full efforts. They all knew that they will win because of destiny, The war lasted for one day and result came to their way. They all were very happy because they had defeated an huge army force. After their victory, all the people were celebrating in the kingdom. But the king's secretery asked one question from the king. He asked how were you so depended upon destiny this time. Then, the king showed him that coin which were head on their both sides. It means there were no destiny involved in their victory. The King said, he had to do that because he knew that their kingdom's army has lost their selfconfidence. That's why i chose this way to make them fully energetic.

Moral of the Story

If you think of win in your mind then you definitely will win and if you think of lose you definitely will lose. Because every decision is based upon your strong desire of win or lose.

Gautama Buddha and his disciples (Small story)

One day Gautama Buddha was going somewhere with his disciples. On the way, Buddha was feeling thirsty. Buddha told his one disciple to bring some water for him. The disciple goes out in search of water. On the way, he saw a river. He went to river to take the water from there. But there were lots of people who were bathing there. Because of that, water was not so pure. That's why he did not take water from that river and went back empty handed. He told buddha that the water was so impure that's why i did not bring water from there.

After listened to him, Buddha send his another disciple to bring water for him. That disciple went to the same river to take water. After Waiting for some time, He returned with water along with him.
Buddha asked him, water of the river was so impure then where from you brought this water. He said, this is the same river water. When i went there, I saw that water was very impure. But i waited there for some time. After some time, the dust went down and separated from the water. Then only the clean water remained up. That is the only reason i could bring that water. 

Buddha was very happy with him. He teached us a great lesson by this story. He said, this is the same situation of our life. Because whenever there is suffering in our life we get dispointed from our life like the first disciple did. He did not wait there for water to cleanup and returned back with dispointment. As like him we never wait for something to get heal. We have no patience in ourselves. He said time is the big healer. Everything changes according to time. If you have good days now you definitely will have bad days also. Because change is very necessary for everything. This is universal truth. We should be like second desciple because he kept patience for some time and he got the good result.

A Farmer and a Sparrow Story (Don't depend on others)

Once there was a farmer. He had a wheat farm. But there was a sparrow nest in his wheat farm and there were four little children of that sparrow in that nest. The Sparrow used to go daily in the forest to feed her little children. 

One day when she came back from forest she found their children were very scared. She asked them what happened to them why they are so scared ? They said, farmer was came here today and he was talking about wheat harvesting. He was saying, tomorrow he will send his sons to cut the wheat crops. They said where will they go after crops has been cut. After listened to their children, sparrow said that no body will come tomorrow to cut the wheat crops so please don't scare.

Next day, same happened as sparrow said. No one came there to cut the crops. Many days passed but no one came there to cut the crops. Everything was going well. Sparrow's children were very happy.

One day again when sparrow returned from the forest she was again shocked by seeing her children faces. They were so scared again. Sparrow asked them the reason behind their fear. They again said, farmer was came here today and he was talking about crop harvesting again. Today he was saying, tomorrow he will send the labours to cut the crops. After listened to them, Sparrow again said don't worry no one will come tomorrow.

 Next day, again same happened as sparrow said. No one came there to cut the crops. Again many days passed. But no one came there to the cut the crops.

Again one day, sparrow came back from forest and again she saw her chidren scared faces. She asked again about their fear. They again said today farmer came here again and he was talking about wheat harvesting. But today he said he has wasted his lot of time on depending upon others and he said that tomorrow he will come to cut the crops by himself. After listening this, sparrow said, tomorrow we will leave this place and will make our nest on some other place. Sparrow told their children that tomorrow he will definitely cut the wheat crops. That's why we have to leave this place.

Next day, Third time, again same happened as sparrow said. The farmer came there and has cut the crops. After seeing this, sparrow's little children asked his mother that every time whatever you said its gone right. what was the reason behind this.

Sparrow said, first time the farmer was depended upon his sons and second time he was depended upon labours. That's why that work did not complete.

But third time he was not depend upon anyone. That's why he succeded this time.

Moral of the Story

We should not depend on others to complete our works. Whenever we depend on others we always fail. So if you have any dream in your life, never depend on others to fullfill that dream. You will never be successfull.

Relation between Samatha Meditation and Vipassana Meditation

In many Buddhist traditions, Samatha is done as a precursor to Vipassna (insight) meditation. In all Buddhist schools two types of meditation practices are followed samatha and vipassana. Samatha is a primary meditation aimed at calming the mind, and is also well-known and widely used in non-buddhist traditions. It is however vipassana, the systematic investigation of self and phenomena that is unique to the Buddhist tradition. 

Vipassana Meditation Course

Vipassana meditation technique is taught in many countries all over the world. This technique is taught in ten-day residential courses, during which participants are adhered to a set code of discipline, learning the basics of the method, and practicing adequately to experience its beneficial results.

God's way of thinking (Small Story)

Once there was a temple in a city. There was a man who always used to clean the temple. One day he came inside the temple to clean it and suddenly an idea came in his mind. He turned his face towards the god's statue and started to ask some questions. He said, "God you are standing here from many years, you did not get bored". Let's play a game today of exchanging our jobs for one day. I will live your life for today and you will live mine life for today.

At first, God refused his proposal but on his repeated prayers, God had to accept his proposal. But god kept a condition on it. God said if someone pray for something from you. Then you have no need to fullfill his pray. Just stand there and stay calm. Just listen their prayers but don't do anything. He said ok and then god went away from there.

After some time, a very rich man came in that temple for his prayer. The rich man said, God i have a lot of money and want to earn more. He said i want to start a new company please help me for this and then he went away from there. But he forgot his wallet there. The fake god man saw his wallet and wanted to tell that man to carry his wallet along with him But suddenly he realized that God forbid him to do anything. 

After some time, another man came in the temple who was looking very poor. He had only one rupee coin and he kept that coin in front of the god's statue. He said, God i am very hungry and i need money to survive, please help me. Suddenly he opened his eyes and saw a wallet there. He was very happy to see that wallet. He thought that god has given this wallet to him and he took that wallet and went away from there. The Fake god man was seeing all the matter but he did not do anything this time again.

After some time, a third man came in the temple who was a sailor. He said, God i am a sailor and i am going on a fifteen days tour in the sea. So please help me that nothing happen wrong there and i will return home safely. In a while the rich man came there along with police to arrest that sailor. The rich man said he is the only person who has came in the temple after me. Maybe He has stolen my wallet. Please arrest him.  The Police arrested thar sailor.

The fake god man was watching the whole matter and this time he could not stop himself to tell the truth. When he started to speak. Everyone was watching all around themself to recognise the sound. But they did not able to understand from where this sound is coming.

But after sometime they realized that sound is coming from the god's statue and they thought god is speaking to them. The fake god man told them all the truth about the theif. He said poor man stole your mobile. The sailor is innocent let him go. After listening to fake god man the police arrested the poor man and took him along with them to the police station.

The fake god man was feeling proud on himself after telling the truth. He was thinking he had done everything right. Then the Real God returned to his temple in the evening. The fake god man told him all the story of the day and said i have saved a innocent man.

After listening to him,  God told him that you did not do anything right and you have spoiled everything. I had told you to not to do anything. But you did not obey me. Now i tell you what did you have done.

God said that the rich man is not a nice person. He has earned that money from wrong deeds. The poor man was a very honest man. He always helped the needy people. If he get the wallet of that rich man, he would have used that money in the right place. Thereby, the bad deeds of that rich man was slightly reduced. 

God said, now let me tell you something about da sailor. Sailor is going on a tour of fifteen days in the sea. If the sailor went to jail, he would have escaped. Now he is going on a fifteen-days journey in the sea and now he will never return. 

God said to fake god man, i told you not to do anything but you have spoiled everything.

Moral of the Story

If something is bad happening to you in your life, and you are not understanding why it is happening,  Then don't lose faith in god because he has planned something better for you. What he has planned for you? you cannot even imagine. So always faith in god.
