What is Magnetic Hill ?
Magnetic hill is also called as Gravity hill. Magnetic Hill has the properties of a magnet which pulls the vehicles uphill. But in reality, It is just an optical illusion which is created by rising and descending areas. There are many magnetic hills in the world and Moncton maganetic hill is one of them.
Moncton Magnetic Hill
It is located at the northwestern edge of the city of Moncton in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. Moncton magnetic hill has been baffling visitors for over 80 years. In the 19th century, When the cart path was built and automobiles were became more common in Moncton, drivers seen a very mysterious occurrence on a small hill. They saw, when a driver takes his foot off the car brake at the bottom of the hill, the vehicle rolls backword to the hill(uphill). From then, this hill is known as magnetic hill.
Tourism Attraction
Due to its magnetic properties this hill has become very popular among the tourists. To experience Magnetic Hill today, drivers must pay a fee to drive their cars to the end of the road. When a car is placed in neutral, it will begin to roll backwards, apparently uphill.
