D.B. Cooper - An unidentified man who hijacked a plane and disappeared forever into the air with $200,000 | The only unsolved hijacking case in the history

In today's article, we will talk about a very interesting and mysterious case, which later became one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in U.S history. This is the story of an unknown person who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft and stole $200,000 from there and then jumped off the plane and never found again.

On November 24, 1971, a man named D. B. Cooper, also known as Dan Cooper, boards a flight from Portland to Seattle, and as soon as the flight went into the air, he handed a letter to the flight attendant standing near him, in which it was written that I have a bomb in my briefcase and you just come and sit beside me immediately. As the flight attendant sits next to Cooper, he opens his briefcase and shows the bomb, and demanded $200,000 and four parachutes as ransom money, in exchange for ensuring the safety of the passengers, otherwise, he would blast the plane. 

Before boarding the plane, he showed his name there as Dan Cooper, which later turned out to be fake. But it has been said that once during a news reporting, a reporter misheard the name as D.B. Cooper instead of Dan Cooper, which started to be used widely.

When the flight lands in Seattle in the evening, $200,000 and four parachutes are given to Cooper according to his demand. As soon as Cooper got the money and parachutes as per his demand, he released all the 36 passengers. But still, he forced two pilots, a flight engineer, and a flight attendant to stay on the plane and ordered the crew to fly to Mexico. Consequently, as the flight takes off, on the way, with cash in hand, wearing a parachute, he jumped out of the plane when visibility was poor. Since then, no one has seen D. B. Cooper again. The FBI tried to investigate the case very deeply, but the hijacker was never caught or identified, and finally, in 2016 the FBI closed its investigation and file forever.
